Jenchieh Hung, co-founder and acclaimed architect of Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee / HAS Design and Research, an award-winning international architectural practice based in Bangkok and Shanghai, continues his contributions to the field of architecture with the recent release of a new book titled Shanghai Architecture Guide – Views of Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee (ISBN 978-616-459-096-0), published by Li-Zenn Publishing.
The book was officially presented to the Faculty of Architecture at Silpakorn University, where it was received by Deputy Dean in Planning, Research, Special Affairs and Quality Assurance Kreangkrai Kirdsiri, along with Siriporn Dansakun, course leader of Theory and Design Methodology in Japanese Architecture in the Bachelor of Architecture program. A copy of the book was also donated to Silpakorn University’s Architecture Library as a symbol of cultural exchange and academic collaboration between Thailand and China, as Jenchieh Hung is a visiting professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Tongji University, China.
Shanghai Architecture Guide – Views of Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida Songkittipakdee offers an in-depth exploration of the architects’ unique perspectives and design philosophies, shaped by the urban context of Shanghai. Through a compelling mix of narrative essays, architectural diagrams, and photographs, the book provides insightful reflections on the city’s architectural identity and transformation. Adding further significance to the publication are prefaces contributed by two renowned figures in architecture: Kengo Kuma, founder of Kengo Kuma and Associates, and Wu Jiang, president of the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA).
