พิธีเปิดนิทรรศการ เรือนไม้สักพื้นถิ่นพม่า: บันทึกมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่กำลังเผชิญความเสี่ยง จัดโดยกองทุนโบราณสถานโลก เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ 7 กรกฎาคม 2568 เวลา 18.00-20.00 น. ณ หอศิลปะสถาปัตยกรรมพระพรหมพิจิตร คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร วิทยาเขตวังท่าพระ กรุงเทพมหานคร ภายในงานมีการแลกเปลี่ยนบทสนทนาในยามเย็น สัมผัสวัฒนธรรมท่ามกลางบรรยากาศที่ผ่อนคลาย เพลิดเพลินกับชาพม่าและของว่างจากโรงน้ำชาย่างกุ้ง (Rangoon Tea House) ซึ่งกล่าวต้อนรับแขกทุกท่านที่มาในงานโดย รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร. อภิรดี เกษมศุข คณบดีคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร และคุณเจฟฟ์ อัลเลน ผู้อำนวยการโครงการอาวุโส ประจำภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ กองทุนโบราณสถานโลก
เรือนไม้สักพื้นถิ่นพม่า: บันทึกมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่กำลังเผชิญความเสี่ยง สำรวจความรุ่มรวยแต่ทว่าใกล้สูญหายของประเพณีการก่อสร้างสถาปัตยกรรมไม้แบบพื้นถิ่นในเมียนมา โดยเฉพาะเรือนพื้นถิ่นที่สร้างขึ้นจากไม้สักพม่าอันล้ำค่า สถาปัตยกรรมที่ดูสมถะเรียบง่ายแต่โดดเด่นด้วยอัตลักษณ์เหล่านี้มิได้เป็นเพียงที่อยู่อาศัย แต่ยังสะท้อนถึงความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรม งานช่างฝีมือ และวิถีชีวิตในท้องถิ่นที่สืบทอดกันมาหลายศตวรรษ
ปัจจุบัน เรือนไม้พื้นถิ่นกำลังเผชิญกับภัยคุกคามที่เพิ่มขึ้นจากการพัฒนาเมือง การถูกละเลย การเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคม และเมื่อไม่นานมานี้ ความขัดแย้งทางการเมือง รวมถึงภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติ เพื่อรับมือกับสถานการณ์ดังกล่าว กองทุนโบราณสถานโลกจึงได้ริเริ่มโครงการสำรวจและบันทึกข้อมูลเรือนไม้สักพื้นถิ่นพม่า เพื่อสำรวจและปกป้องสถาปัตยกรรมที่ไม่อาจทดแทนได้รวมถึงอัตลักษณ์ที่สะท้อนออกมาจากบ้านไม้ของพวกเขาเหล่านี้ นิทรรศการเน้นให้เห็นถึงการทำงานภาคสนาม การมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน และความพยายามอย่างต่อเนื่องในการสร้างแรงบันดาลใจเพื่อการศึกษาวิจัยและการอนุุรักษ์
นิทรรศการนี้จะจัดไปจนถึงวันที่ 26 กรกฎาคม 2568 ณ หอศิลปะสถาปัตยกรรมพระพรหมพิจิตร

The Burmese Teak Farmhouses Exhibition: Documenting Heritage at Risk
Organized by World Monuments Fund on Monday, 7 July 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Phra Phrombhichitr Architecture and Art Gallery, Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University, Wang Tha Phra Campus, Bangkok.
An evening of conversation and culture in a relaxed setting, with Burmese tea and snacks provided by Rangoon Tea House. Welcome remarks were given by Associate Professor Dr. Apiradee Kasemsook, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Silpakorn University, and Jeff Allen, WMF Senior Program Director for Southeast Asia.
Burmese Teak Farmhouses: Documenting Heritage at Risk explores the rich but endangered tradition of vernacular wooden architecture in Myanmar—particularly farmhouses built from prized Burmese teak. These modest yet remarkable structures represent more than just homes: they reflect centuries of cultural diversity, artisanal craftsmanship, and rural life.
Today, Burmese farmhouses face growing threats from development, neglect, social change, and, more recently, conflict and environmental disasters. With this architectural heritage increasingly threatened, World Monuments Fund launched the Burmese Teak Farmhouses Documentation Project to record and safeguard these irreplaceable buildings and the cultural identity they embody. The exhibition highlights findings from fieldwork, community engagement, and ongoing efforts to inspire research and conservation.
