Objectives of the Program 

1. To produce graduates who possess advanced skills, knowledge and understanding, with ability in carrying out research and analysis of complex data through the use of comprehensive technology so as to thoroughly comprehend the issues concerned in order to establish concepts and procedures for urban and environmental planning
2. To produce graduates who possess moral and ethical qualities in urban and community planning profession that can create favorable physical urban environments in order to serve and protect public interest in future
3. To build up further body of knowledge for developing academic excellence and professional quality in urban and environmental planning practice. 

 

Eligibility to Apply

1. Applicants must be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in either architecture, engineering, science, arts, social science, or other disciplines related to development planning such as landscape architecture, town and community planning, urban architecture, urban design, or urban and environmental planning 
2. Qualifications other than the above-listed may however be considered for acceptance at the discretion of the Program Operating Committee 
3. Possess the qualities stipulated under Article 7 of Silpakorn University Graduate Studies Regulations, 2023 and/or subsequent changes thereof.

Total of not less than 36 credits throughout the program

 

Structure of the Curriculum

Plan A1 

Compulsory courses non-credit 6  credits
Thesis equivalent to 36  credits

Plan A2 

Compulsory courses a number of 12  credits
Elective courses not less than 12  credits
Thesis equivalent to 12  credits

Plan B 

Compulsory courses a number of 18  credits
Elective courses not less than 12  credits
Independent Study equivalent to     6  credits

Note: - Plans A1 and A2 do not require students to take Comprehensive Exam
         - Plan B students are required to take Comprehensive Exam on theory and practice in urban and environmental planning.

Students with no background in urban and environmental planning are required to enroll in 264 600 Fundamental Knowledge of Urban and Environmental Planning as non-credit course.
